Meanwhile, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) this week sent a memorandum to House Republicans outlining legislation he plans to bring to the floor this summer. 

Some items on which House members can expect to vote:

• FY 2013 appropriations bills (Energy & Water; Homeland Security; Military Construction)

• Repeal of several provisions of the 2010 health care law

• Reauthorization of federal intelligence programs

• Proposals to encourage domestic oil and natural gas exploration<

• Postal Service reform

• Tax breaks and regulatory relief for small businesses

While it is not surprising that the goals of the chambers are different, it is somewhat odd that neither Reid nor Cantor mentioned the reauthorization of federal highway and transit programs, which expire on June 30.  Also, there was no mention of two high profile items – the Farm Bill and student loan interest breaks — in the House plans.
