Samantha Weintraub

Samantha Weintraub first joined CapitalEdge in June 2017 as a summer intern. Samantha later returned to CapitalEdge in July 2018 as the Legislative and Grants Research Assistant. Her responsibilities include researching federal grant opportunities, tracking legislation, scheduling meetings for visiting clients, and contributing to the weekly newsletter.

Samantha’s interest in local government began in 2013 when she interned at the City of Los Angeles in the Urban Design Studio. There, Samantha shadowed the lead urban designer and aided in creating a citywide publication detailing the studio’s design principles for all future developments in the city. Samantha returned to the city of Los Angeles in 2015 to intern with City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell who represents the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles. There, Samantha researched the impacts of projects in the district, including the first “scramble” crosswalk to be implemented in the city on Hollywood Boulevard.

In 2018, Samantha worked with SPUR or the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association, an organization located in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose that researches and reports on various urban issues in bay area cities.

Samantha graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in May of 2018 with a degree in Urban Studies and minors in Sustainable Design and the Social and Cultural Factors in Environmental Design. While at Berkeley, Samantha earned her LEED Green Associate credential through the U.S. Green Building Council and possesses a strong understanding of green building practices.
